A young woman who first volunteered last winter for the ‘Merrysville for the Holidays ’Electric Lights Parade and photos with Santa has become a cheerful, dependable part of the city’s Parks, Culture and Recreation team. Nelly Osborn was honored by Mayor Jon Nehring with the Volunteer of the Month award at the June 27 Marysville City Council meeting.
Since December, Osborn has continued to volunteer for City of Marysville special events including the Father-Daughter Valentine’s Dance, Mother-Son Superhero Dance, Prom Re-Run “Forever Young,” and Murder Mystery Dinner Theater.
“Nelly has an incredible energy and upbeat attitude that is contagious to all around her,” her Parks colleagues said. “Whether she is in hour one of an event or hour eight, she is constantly working hard, smiling and engaging both staff and participants.”
Volunteers help make it possible for the City to offer free and affordable activities to the Marysville community.
Osborn also volunteers for the Marysville Community Food Bank, where she has contributed graphic design services.
