Sales tax rate increase to go into effect Oct. 1, 2014

Effective Oct. 1 in the City of Marysville, a two-tenths of 1% sales tax increase on items purchased for business or personal use (8.6 to 8.8%) will take effect for transportation system improvements. The effective date had previously been misreported.

Voters approved the 0.2% sales tax increase last April to generate $1.6 million per year over 10 years for Marysville unmet transportation system needs, and improving pedestrian and bicycle safety and access.
