3. How much does it cost to surrender or collect a stray pet through the Everett Animal Shelter?

The fee is $155 per animal for surrendering a pet and the fee is the same to collect or retrieve a "stray" pet that was turned into the Everett Animal Shelter. Payments are required at time of surrender, or call Margaret in the Marysville Police Department at (360) 363-8308 (no last name, please). Payment of these fees helps to offset the thousands of dollars that the City of Marysville is billed each year for stray animals.

Full payment must be made to collect your stray pet. Payments should be made to Marysville City Hall, 1049 State Ave, Marysville, WA 98270.

4. I want to know about laws regarding fireworks in Marysville

Within the City of Marysville, discharge of fireworks is restricted to 9 a.m.-11 p.m. on Sunday, July 4 only. Sale of consumer fireworks, defined as Class C or “safe and sane,” is permitted from noon-11 p.m. on June 28 and from 9 a.m.-11 p.m. June 29-July 4.

Under state law, possession or discharge of illegal fireworks is a misdemeanor offense punishable by a fine of up to $1,000, up to a year in jail and a mandatory court appearance. Police also have the discretion to issue:
* A civil infraction (fine) in an amount up to $500 may be issued by police instead of a criminal citation.
* The criminal misdemeanor fine consistent with the standard state penalty of an amount not to exceed $1,000 and/or 90 days in jail.
* Gross misdemeanor offenses carry a fine of up to $5,000 and/or a year in jail.
* A person with 3 or more civil infractions within a two-year time period to be cited for a misdemeanor.

City and Fire District officials encourage that if fireworks are part of your holiday plans, use them safely, and after you "light it up, clean it up."

To get a copy of a Police report you must submit a Police Department Public Disclosure Request form to 1635 Grove Street Marysville WA 98270 or fax to 360-659-7667.

To file a complaint, please fill out a Code Violation Complaint Form and bring or mail it to the Public Works/Community Development Building, 80 Columbia Ave., Marysville WA 98270.
