COVID-19

COVID-19 Sanitation and Recycling Collection Updates:

Per Waste Management, temporary change for RECYCLING ONLY:

Put extra recycle in plastic recycling bins, 32 gallon cans clearly labeled as recycle, cardboard boxes (up to 3’x3’x3’), or paper bags.  Extra cardboard needs to be cut down into 2ft x 2ft squares and can be placed in bundles on top of recycle cart.  (Extra recycling is not normally included in your bi-weekly recycle service.)

Your City of Marysville and Waste Management sanitation and recycling teams are working earnestly to continue to provide collection services to the City of Marysville.  The health and safety of the employees, customers and community are the highest priority.  Likewise, we are striving to comply with the federal and state health and safety directives that have been issued in this time of a health emergency.  At this time we have not yet experienced any significant disruptions in essential collection services.  As a safety precaution we are suspending the collection of residential bulky waste (e.g., mattresses, furniture, etc.) for curbside collections.

The City of Marysville has stopped collecting extra garbage, even with prepaid tags.  This is a temporary change.  To minimize the contact and handling of garbage by our sanitation drivers, we are asking residential solid waste customers who have extra garbage to wait until their cart is emptied on their collection day, then refill the cart, call Utility Billing at 360-363-8001 and request an extra pickup.  The cost, based on your cart size, will be added to your account when you call in.  The cost is $6.66 for cart size up to 36 gallon, $13.32 for 64 gallon carts, and $19.98 for 96 gallon carts.

All sales of garbage tags will be stopped as of March 31, 2020 at Safeway and Albertson’s, as well as City Hall.  Thank you for understanding.

NOTICE - COMMERCIAL GARBAGE CUSTOMERS

As a reminder, any of the City’s solid waste commercial account customers can reduce the frequency of collection to once a week and also reduce the size of their dumpster to better accommodate their current business needs.  Please contact Utility Billing at 360-363-8001 to make adjustments to your account.
