Calling all high school students! Join the Marysville Youth Action Committee (MYAC)!

This committee is for high school students who want to represent youth voices and strengthen teen relations in the Marysville community. Students will have the opportunity to develop leadership skills through training and hands-on experience. The work of the MYAC will create new programs and encourage more opportunities for youth to give back.

First meeting is schedule for Wednesday Oct 11th from 4pm-5pm at the Marysville Community Center, 1015 State Ave.

What does the MYAC do?

  • Volunteer at upcoming events such as Merrysville for the Holidays, Touch-A-Truck, and park clean-up days.
  • Attend and participate in monthly meetings
  • Be a bridge to city leaders with issues concerning teens.
  • Help shape what MYAC looks like for future years.

Who should apply?

  • High school students (grades 9-12) able to commit for the 2023-24 school year.
  • Students who live in the 98270 & 98271 zip codes.
  • Available to attend monthly meetings on Wednesdays from 4-5 p.m.
  • Available to volunteer at monthly events scheduled throughout the year, often on evenings and weekends.
  • Students who are motivated, passionate and who take initiative.
  • Students who have a positive attitude and a growth mindset.

    1. Participant Commitment Pledge:

      MYAC members are expected to earn 20 hours of volunteering each semester. As this is a new group, this expectation won’t start until the winter-spring semester. As a MYAC member, you will assist with planning or volunteering with social events, fundraisers and other community events.

      MYAC members are also expected to attend each monthly meeting. If attendance issues persists, you may be asked to step away from the committee.
