Parks, Culture & Recreation Advisory Board

NOTICE: Want to help shape the future of Marysville parks? The city has an opening on the Parks, Culture and Recreation Advisory Board for a three-year term ending in September 2026.

The board meets at 5 p.m. on the second Wednesday of every odd-numbered month. It advises the Parks, Culture and Recreation department and the City Council on long-range planning for parks, facilities and programs. It also develops operating rules and policies for facilities and programs.

The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board acts in an advisory capacity to the parks and recreation director and to the City Council. The board performs a range of functions, including:

  • Acquisition or disposal of parks and recreation real property or facilities
  • Adoption of operating rules and regulations relating to parks and recreation properties and facilities
  • Capital improvements to parks and recreation properties and facilities
  • Long-range planning for parks and recreation facilities and programs
  • Supports interlocal cooperation with parks and recreation programs in other jurisdictions
