Recreation Opportunities

Marysville Opera House

Marysville continues to expand and evolve cultural offerings at the Marysville Opera House, a beautifully renovated historic treasure built in 1911 by the Independent Order of Odd Fellows.  The city now manages the Opera House, offering a variety of public events each month including live music, art classes, outdoor speakers, historic movies and more.  The Opera House is also a unique wedding and special event destination.  For additional information on upcoming events or rentals, visit their webpage.

Ebey Waterfront Park and Trail

The first phase of a planned trail network into the restored Qwuloolt Estuary from Ebey Waterfront Park opened in April 2017, giving recreational walkers an up-close look at the waterfront that fueled our city’s economy a century ago and easy access today to a natural habitat experience close to home.

The first phase offers 1.8 miles of shoreline trail in two sections separated by the estuary’s dike.  Future phases will connect the two current segments to complete the five-mile loop around the estuary and provide full pedestrian access between Marysville and Sunnyside.

Comeford Spray Park

Comeford Spray Park was opened in 2015 in the existing Comefort Park in Downtown Marysville adjacent to the Ken Baxter Community Center. This is a popular summertime destination attracting people from around the region. A BBQ Pavilion was completed in the summer of 2017, adding another feature to the park.

Jennings Memorial and Nature Parks

Jennings is the centerpiece of Marysville’s extensive parks system. The green, rolling hillsides of Jennings Memorial Park provide a wonderful place any time of season to stroll, picnic, play ball or admire the unique Allen Creek environs. This community park offers 30 acres of forest, wetlands and meandering trails that connect with Jennings Nature Park, playgrounds, ball fields, picnic areas and more. This park hosts numerous year-round events including the annual Summer Concert Series, Popcorn in the Park Movies Series, Kiwanis Fishing Derby and the Easter Egg Hunt.  Connecting to the Memorial Park is the Jennings Nature Park, which features 31 acres of trails, open space, wetland overlooks along with playground and picnic tables.  Jennings is also home to the Jennings Park Barn, which is available for private rentals.
