The Traffic Safety Committee (TSC) is an internal staff group made up of members of Public Works, Community Development, Police and the Mayor. The committee meets every four to six weeks to discuss citizen initiated traffic safety concerns such as speeding, pedestrian safety, parking, street lighting, etc.
TSC also administers the City Neighborhood Traffic Safety (NTS) Program which is a citizen initiated program to evaluate neighborhood traffic speeding to determine the necessity of traffic calming utilizing the principles of the three E's of Education, Enforcement and Engineering.
A common concern of City citizens is parking within the Public ROW. To provide for education of parking restrictions set forth by RCW which do not require signs, the City has created an educational diagram depicting these restrictions.
