Hotel/Motel Committee appointments confirmed

Appointed were:
• Jennifer Caveny, Holiday Inn Express
• Mark Jensen, Maryfest, Inc.
• Mary Kirkland, Downtown Merchants Association
• Charles Lee, Village Motor Inn

In accordance with state law, committee membership includes two representatives of businesses that collect lodging taxes and two involved in activities authorized for funding by lodging tax revenues. Council President Kamille Norton was previously named to serve as committee chairperson representing the City.

The City annually solicits grant applications for projects proposed to promote tourism in Marysville. The Hotel/Motel Committee is charged with reviewing qualifying applications and recommending which should be funded with available resources (lodging taxes collected).
