Kelly Huestis joins Marysville Parks Board

Longtime Marysville youth soccer leader Kelly Huestis has been appointed to serve on the Marysville Parks, Culture and Recreations Board. His appointment was recommended by Mayor Jon Nehring and confirmed by the City Council Monday night.

Huestis, Director of Select for Pilchuck Soccer Alliance, has been involved as a soccer player and coach for more than 20 years. He has coached in Marysville since moving to Washington in 1998. He previously served as Vice President/Director of Development for the Marysville Youth Soccer Club and oversaw that organization’s merger with North Sound Soccer Club to become Pilchuck Soccer Alliance.

Huestis replaces Mike Elmore, who resigned because he is moving outside the city. The Parks, Culture and Recreation Board is an advisory body to the Parks Director and City Council. It meets every other month at Jennings Park Barn.
