City earns top financial reporting award

The City of Marysville has earned the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR).

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting and represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.

The CAFR was judged by an impartial panel to meet high standards that include demonstrating a clear commitment to transparently communicate the city’s financial story.

GovernmentFinance Officers Association is a major professional association serving nearly19,000 appointed and elected local, state and provincial-level government officials and finance practitioners.
