Council confirms appointments to Marysville Hotel/Motel Committee

The Marysville City Council confirmed annual appointments to Marysville’s Hotel/Motel Committee at its meeting Monday night. Committee members are:

  • Jennifer Caveny, Holiday Inn Express
  • Mary Kirkland, Downtown Merchants Association and Maryfest
  • Charles Lee, Village Motor Inn
  • Jesica Stickles, Greater Marysville Tulalip Chamber of Commerce

The City annually solicits grant applications for projects proposed to promote tourism in Marysville. The next application cycle will open this fall. The Hotel/Motel Committee reviews qualifying applications and recommends to the City Council which projects to fund with lodging taxes collected.

State law requires the committee to include two representatives of businesses that collect lodging taxes and two involved in activities eligible for funding by lodging tax revenues. Council President Kamille Norton was previously confirmed as committee chairperson representing the City.
