Roadwork overlay projects begin Aug. 13

Heads up, Marysville. Summer roadwork projects are scheduled to begin next week. Citizens can expect intermittent, single-lane traffic closures and temporary closures of ADA-compliant pedestrian walkways throughout the duration of these projects. Working hours will be 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Work is expected to wrap up by the end of September.  The projects include: 

Sunnyside Overlay (contractor SRV Construction, Inc., is performing this work)

  • Sunnyside Boulevard (40th Street NE to Soper Hill Road): Aug. 13-late September - Replace curb ramps to comply with ADA standards, repair pavement, full-width grind and pavement overlay, new pavement markings

2018 Pavement Preservation (contractor Cadman Materials, Inc., is performing this work)

  • 52nd Street NE (Sunnyside Blvd to 75th Avenue NE): Aug. 14-late September - Repair pavement, full-width grind and pavement overly, new pavement markings
  • 84th Street NE (67th Avenue NE to 74th Drive NE): Aug. 14-late September - Repair pavement, full-width grind and pavement overly, new pavement markings
  • 136th Street NE (Smokey Point Blvd to railroad tracks): Aug. 14-late September - Repair pavement, full-width grind and pavement overly, new pavement markings

The Sunnyside Overlay project is funded by both the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) through Surface Transportation Program (STP) funds and by Marysville voter-approved Transportation Benefit District (TBD) funds. The 2018 Pavement Preservation projects are funded by voter-approved TBD funds.
