The City of Marysville will kick off construction of its new Civic Center with a groundbreaking ceremony at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13, at the project site at 5th & Delta.
Following a brief program, attendees are invited to an open house across the street at the Ken Baxter Community Center to learn more about the project and talk with city staff and contractors.
Construction contractor is Lydig Construction, Inc., of Bellevue. Architecture and design contractors are Botesch, Nash & Hall of Everett and DLR Group of Seattle. The city’s project manager is Bryan Milligan.
The Civic Center will bring together several city departments and functions that currently are located in different structures throughout the city. The new facility will house Police, Jail, Municipal Court, City Council chambers, City Hall, Community Development and Public Works Engineering offices. Construction is expected to take about two years.
