Expect traffic delays as Chick-fil-A opens Thursday

Lots of people love their chicken sandwiches! Expect heavy traffic and travel delays on and around 88th Street NE when Chick-fil-A opens its Marysville location for drive-through service only starting at 6:30 a.m. Thursday, May 21.

Based on experience when Chick-fil-A opened in other communities, significant traffic impacts are likely for several days. Use alternate routes if possible. We expect the heaviest traffic to be on 88th Street NE between Interstate 5 and State Avenue.

Marysville Police will be on hand to direct traffic at peak times through Saturday. Please be patient and follow the officers’ directions. The restaurant chain is closed on Sundays.

Compounding potential traffic issues is the closure of State Avenue north of 100th Street NE for construction. To avoid expected traffic delays on 88th Street NE, we recommend using freeway exits at 4th Street (Exit 199) or 116th Street (Exit 202) and traveling north/south through town on 51st Avenue NE or 67th Avenue NE.
