Mayor Jon Nehring is requesting applications from Marysville residents interested in serving on the city Planning Commission. Deadline to apply is Tuesday, June 30.
“People who volunteer on committees like the Planning Commission become involved in the decision-making process that helps improve quality of life and plans for the future of our city,” Mayor Nehring said.
The current vacancy resulted from a recent resignation. Planning Commission appointments are for six-year terms appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council.
Applicants must reside within Marysville city limits. The seven-member Planning Commission is an advisory board to the Mayor and City Council on issues such as land use, critical areas and shoreline management planning, and long-range planning issues. The commission meets at 7 p.m. the second and fourth Tuesday each month. Other meetings may be scheduled as necessary.
