The city contracts with the Everett Animal Shelter, 333 Smith Island Road, Everett - about 8 minutes south of town. The Everett Animal Shelter accepts stray dogs and cats seven days a week during business hours: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Visit the EAS website for more information.

4. Does Marysville have a pet license law?

Yes. You can license your pet online, download and complete an application, or pick up an application at City Hall, 1049 State Ave.

5. How much does it cost to license a pet?

Spayed or neutered pets receive FREE lifetime licenses, though replacement tags cost $5. Unaltered pets cost $25 per year, and the license must be renewed each year. Seniors age 60 and older with unaltered pets pay $15 per year, and the license must be renewed each year.

Yes. You can raise up to six female chickens on residential lots less than one acre in size; roosters are prohibited on lots that are less than one acre in size.

However, some conditions do apply (MMC 10.04.315):

No. The Marysville Municipal Code related to animals is enforced 24 hours a day, 7 days per week whenever any animal makes noise that bothers another person.
