[ARCHIVED] Suspect arrested following Marysville armed bank robbery

Marysville officers, with the assistance of a Monroe Police Department K9, arrested a 22-year-old Texas man following the armed robbery of a local bank just before 6 p.m. March 6.

The suspect entered the bank and pointed a handgun at an employee and demanded money. The employee complied, handing over the money to the robber at which time he fled.

Officers responded to the Home Street Bank located in the 1200 block of State Ave. after receiving a 911 hang-up call from a bank employee. The 911 call was made while the robber was still in the bank, which allowed officers to respond and arrive on scene very quickly.

A Monroe K9 responded to assist and was able to track and locate the suspect hiding in bushes approximately 100 yards from the bank. He was arrested without incident. The suspect was in possession of the handgun used in the robbery and a large amount of money at the time of his arrest.

The suspect, who also has a felony warrant out of the State of Texas for robbery with a weapon, will be booked at the Snohomish County Jail for first-degree robbery.

Further inquiries regarding this press release should be directed to Commander Robb Lamoureux.
