[ARCHIVED] Marysville Police investigating serious injury car/bicyclist collision

Marysville Police Collision Investigation Team (CIT) was called to investigate a collision involving a bicyclist and a passenger car.

At around 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, officers responded to the 3400 block of Sunnyside Blvd., in Marysville. At the scene officers learned from witnesses that an adult male had been riding his bicycle southbound on Sunnyside Blvd. The bicyclist, a 60 year old Marysville man, began to lose control of his bike and fell into the path of the oncoming vehicle. Although wearing a helmet, he suffered serious, life-threatening head injuries and was transported by ambulance to Providence General Medical Center in Everett.

The driver of the vehicle, a 38 year old Marysville woman, was cooperating with investigators and remained at the scene while the investigation was conducted. Investigators do not believe there was any impairment on the part of the driver.

Sunnyside Blvd. was closed to through traffic for several hours during the investigation. It has since reopened.

Anyone who has information regarding this collision is asked to contact Marysville Police Collision Investigation Team Detective Paul McShane at 360-363-8350.
