[ARCHIVED] Residents asked to be aware of potential luring suspect

Marysville residents are asked to be alert for a potential child luring suspect after an incident that occurred Saturday night, Aug. 22.

A mother was watching three children, ranging in age from six to nine, ride bikes in a parking lot in the 7200 block of Grove Street when they were approached by a male driving a gold Dodge Durango SUV. The male in the SUV drove past the area several times before turning into the parking lot.

The mother ran toward the vehicle, which then turned and left the area. Though the driver never spoke to the mother or children, the mother said that the driver had one leg out of the vehicle and looked like he planned to get out of the vehicle in the parking lot.

Witnesses said the suspect was a white male in his 50s with grey or white hair and a bald spot. The suspect may also have a grey or white goatee

If you have information about this incident, or were approached in a similar manner by anyone matching the description of this luring suspect, please contact Marysville Police Detective Paul McShane at 360-363-8389 or pmcshane@marysvillewa.gov.
