Connie Mennie is on the job as the new Communications Officer for the City of Marysville. Her first day was Monday, July 25.
Mennie has focused her career on communications and local government. She comes to Marysville from Sound Transit, where for 11 years she led editorial communications and managed many successful public information and marketing campaigns.
Prior to that she served on staff for the Snohomish County Executive, Snohomish County Council, and Snohomish County District Court. She began her communications career as News Editor for the Marysville Globe.
Mennie is the Seattle chapter president of Association for Women in Communications and earned its founders award, the Georgina MacDougall Davis award for communication excellence, in 2015. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Western Washington University and a master’s degree in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix. She has three grown children and lives with her husband in Everett.
