The girl was knocked off of her bicycle and suffered some minor abrasions and bruising to her face and right leg. The vehicle fled the scene after hitting the girl.

The victim and other family members were walking northbound on 67th Ave., crossing 64th St./SR 528 at the lighted and traffic controlled intersection. The suspect vehicle made a left hand turn into the intersection striking the victim in the crosswalk.

A witness was able to follow the suspect vehicle and obtain a description of the car and the license plate number. The vehicle, a gold colored 2002 Mercury Sable, was registered to a Redmond address. Redmond officers checked the address but did not locate the vehicle. The owner of the property in Redmond called and advised Marysville officers that the owner of the vehicle had been renting the home but had recently been evicted. He did not know the current whereabouts of the suspect.

The girl was transported by aid car to a local hospital for precautionary measures. “This collision is precisely why people should be wearing helmets,” stated Marysville Police Sergeant Adam Vermeulen. “This young girl was and it is very likely much more serious injuries were prevented.”

We are asking for the public’s help in locating the vehicle associated with the hit and run. If the vehicle is spotted you are asked to call 911 to report it. We also ask that you do not attempt to interact with anyone driving the vehicle.

Further inquiries regarding this press release should be directed to Commander Robb Lamoureux.
