On February 22, 2017 at
approximately 2:30 pm, a Marysville police sergeant observed suspicious
activity in a parked vehicle at the Goodwill parking lot, 9300 block of State
Ave. When the Sergeant attempted contact with the two occupants of the vehicle,
it drove out of the parking lot in a reckless manner. The subject fled in the
vehicle throwing various types of paraphernalia out the window as he drove.
The suspect vehicle collided with
another vehicle at the intersection of 80th Street and 51st
Avenue. The Marysville Sergeant was able to identify the suspect running on
foot following the collision. A police K-9 track ensued and a discarded firearm
was located in the area of 7900 block of 52nd Avenue.
Approximately five local schools were
placed into lock-down to insure the safety of the children attending. The school
district are retaining all children who live in the immediate area of the
search until safe to release them.
The driver of the vehicle that
was hit by the suspect was examined for possible injuries to his back and
released on scene. The passenger in the suspect vehicle was transported to the
hospital via ambulance with possible injuries to his upper torso.
The suspect is described as a
55-year-old male, 5 foot 7 inches, 185 lbs., with gray facial hair.
The suspect is being sought for
driving an unreported Stolen Vehicle and Vehicular Assault.
The Marysville Police Department
is asking not to approach the individual and to contact 911.
