Members of the Marysville Police Department NITE Team, the department’s
pro-act unit, recovered hundreds of stolen gold and silver bars, ingots and
coins valued at an estimated $115,000, during the service of two search
warrants yesterday evening and this afternoon.
The officers received reliable information that allowed them to obtain a
search warrant for a residence located in the City of Everett. With assistance from the Everett Police
Department pro-act team, officers recovered the large collection of gold and silver
that included gold and silver bars and ingots, and a large variety of gold and
silver coins, including gold German Krugerrands, with an estimated value of
$110,000.
Officers also seized from the house multiple ounces of both heroin and
methamphetamine along with a vehicle that was located at the residence.
This afternoon, officers served the second search warrant on the vehicle
and recovered another estimated $5,000 in additional stolen gold and silver
coins.
The large collection was stolen several weeks ago during a burglary of a
residence located in Jefferson County.
While no arrests have been made at this time, it is anticipated arrests
will be made in the future based on the on-going investigation.
