[ARCHIVED] Detectives investigating early Friday morning shooting

Marysville Police Detectives are investigating the shooting of a 20 year old man early this morning.  Just after 4:00 a.m., officers responded to the Albertson’s parking lot at 301 Marysville Mall Way where it was reported a man had been shot.

Officers arrived on-scene and were able to initially talk with the 20 year old shooting victim.  Officers learned the victim had been standing outside the suspect vehicle talking with an unknown number of occupants when he was shot multiple times as the vehicle sped away.

Detectives continue to investigate; reviewing local security video, and interviewing witnesses.  We feel confident this was not a random shooting,” stated Commander Robb Lamoureux.

The victim, currently residing in Granite Falls, was treated on-scene by medics for life threatening injuries before being transported by aid car to an Everett hospital.  His current condition is unknown.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have been in the Albertson’s parking lot area before or during the shooting to contact them at 360.363.8350.
