Investigation Update:
Marysville
– July 27, 2017 3:45 PM
Robert L. Dawson, a 36-year old
transient from the Marysville area, the last suspect in the June 1st shooting that occurred on 88th Street NE in Marysville, was located and apprehended yesterday afternoon without incident at a south Everett Motel after members of the Marysville Police NITE Team received a tip on his whereabouts.
After his arrest, Mr. Dawson
cooperated with investigators, admitting to being at the scene and armed with a
handgun. He indicated that he had the firearm because he was afraid he would be
robbed. He was later booked into the Snohomish County Jail for one count each
of Delivery of a Controlled Substance and Felon in Possession of a Firearm,
both charges stemming from the June 1st shooting.
Dawson had been featured for the past two weeks on Washington’s Most Wanted. A combination of local and regional partnerships, information provided by witnesses and citizens, and the dedication of the team investigating this case resulted in all five of the suspects being tracked down and arrested for an assault that leaves the male victim still hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
Though all suspects are now in
custody, detectives will continue to investigate and prepare for prosecution of
this case.
