police lights

Marysville Police Department officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 3600 block of 88th St. in Marysville. Prior to the traffic stop on Saturday, Dec. 4 officers learned that the vehicle was associated with a domestic dispute. The dispute happened in Everett the day before, and involved a weapon.

As officers activated their emergency lights, the driver drove onto the northbound I-5 on-ramp at 88th St. He was the only person in the car. After getting out of the car, the 35-year-old driver died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. There was not a pursuit with the vehicle, and no officers discharged their weapons. The on-ramp to northbound 88th St. Northeast was closed until detectives finished processing the scene.
