The city contracts with the Everett Animal Shelter, 333 Smith Island Road, Everett - about 8 minutes south of town. The Everett Animal Shelter accepts stray dogs and cats seven days a week during business hours: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Visit the EAS website for more information.

5. How much does it cost to license a pet?

Spayed or neutered pets receive FREE lifetime licenses, though replacement tags cost $5. Unaltered pets cost $25 per year, and the license must be renewed each year. Yes. You can raise up to six female chickens on residential lots less than one acre in size; roosters are prohibited on lots that are less than one acre in size.

However, some conditions do apply (MMC 10.04.315):

No. The Marysville Municipal Code related to animals is enforced 24 hours a day, 7 days per week whenever any animal makes noise that bothers another person.
