Public Safety Cadets Program

An exciting program for future leaders in our community! 

Marysville Police Department's Public Safety Cadets program offers mentor training, law enforcement education and volunteer opportunities to prepare young adults for careers in public safety.

Who can participate?

Young adults, ages 14-20 can apply to the program, which offers law enforcement training and education, volunteer opportunities in the community and a chance to gain life experience.

Qualified candidates are required to complete application documents and oral boards before being accepted.

Public Safety Cadets Program application

  10. Public Safety Cadet Program application criteria

    Experience:

    • No Previous experience required

    Education:

    • For 8th-12th grade aged cadets, you are required to actively attend a school while maintaining status as a Marysville Police Cadet. GPA of 2.5 is required to maintain status as a Marysville Police Cadet.

    Other qualifications:

    • Must be age 14 by date of application.
    • Marysville Police Cadets are required to be between the ages of 14-20.
    • Must complete application process in full, to include passing an oral board before selection.
    • Must be able to successfully pass an extensive background check.
    • Must not have been convicted of a felony offense.
    • Must be a citizen of the United States of America or lawful permanent resident by date of application.
    • Must attend at least one meeting a month to maintain status as Marysville Police Cadet

    Insurance:

    • Liability Insurance as well as Supplemental Accident Insurance is provided through Clarke and Sampson, Inc. by the Insurers; Cincinnati Specialty & Philadelphia Indemnity Company to all Public Safety Cadet registered participants while participating in cadet activities.

    Costs:

    • None. Marysville Police Cadets will be funded through the City of Marysville and will resort to other means necessary to raise money for the program. Uniforms will be provided for the Cadets.
