Where to take hazardous waste
The Snohomish County Public Works Division operates a facility to collect and properly dispose of hazardous waste. The county's Household Hazardous Waste Facility (HHW) is located in Everett.
Households may bring accepted items free of charge to the HHW facility. Businesses that produce only a small quantity of hazardous waste may dispose of materials for a fee.
How to tell which products are hazardous
Many everyday products are hazardous. The easiest way to tell if your product is hazardous is to read the label for words such as CAUTION, WARNING, DANGER, FLAMMABLE, COMBUSTIBLE, POISON, or CORROSIVE. See a list of common hazardous household products.
Accidental poisonings and fires send hundreds of Snohomish County residents to area emergency rooms. Don't expose your family or the environment to unnecessary risks caused by improperly used or stored hazardous wastes.
