Notice of Limited Operations
The City of Marysville has declared a State of Emergency. Due to public health concerns related to COVID-19, the Public Works/Community Development public counter is temporarily closed until further notice. During this time, we encourage our community members to utilize our online resources. Please note that we will be experiencing a higher volume of calls and with limited staff available to respond. We will respond to inquiries in the order received.

Building Inspections
Until further notice, the City of Marysville will no longer perform inspections within occupied dwelling units. Elective projects that can be delayed should be postponed at this time, including voluntary electrical panel changes. Commercial projects that need inspections in unoccupied spaces will be allowed to request inspections. New residential projects will be allowed to request inspections. Temporary Inspection Policy
This action is in compliance with the Health Order issued by the Snohomish Health District to help slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.
Legal Advertisements and Notices
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Marysville Globe will not be published until further notice. All legal advertisements and notices will be published in The Everett Herald.
The City of Marysville Community Development Department acts as technical staff adviser to the planning commission, hearing examiner, City Council and the public on planning and building questions. Our goal is to create a vibrant Marysville by promoting economic growth and healthy neighborhoods while protecting our natural environment.

Responsibilities
- Creating a one-stop shop for developers, citizens and property-owners to obtain information, permits, online payment of residential permits (new contractors must contact the Building Department at 360-363-8100 to set up their account) and assistance on all aspects of land use and land development
- Enhancing customer service by providing easy access to staff and planning and building documents while streamlining the permit process
- Facilitating compliance with the Growth Management Act of 1990
- Providing consistency and predictability of land development from the initial planning stages all the way to final approval
