Join us for free Disaster Planning Workshops at the Marysville Community Center (1015 State Ave). To check class dates and register visit this webpage or e-mail preparedness@marysvillewa.gov.
In this free class, participants have the opportunity to work through critical preparedness questions with family members and/or neighbors. Participants will leave with a customized household emergency plan and other free take-home materials from the Marysville Ready Neighbors program. Everyone is welcome to attend.
What is Marysville Ready Neighbors?
Marysville Ready Neighbors is a preparedness program geared towards families and neighbors. Residents can use the materials to prepare for disasters and emergencies no matter what type of housing they live in. It is available and adaptable for everyone, whether you live in a single family home, apartment building, townhome, or any other type of housing. Participation in this program is free, flexible, and completely led by your household’s goals, interests, and schedules.
Steps for becoming official Marysville Ready Neighbors
- Connect with a neighbor or group of neighbors who share an interest in preparedness (optional)
- Complete the online form to join the official Marysville Ready Neighbors list
- Work with Marysville Emergency Management to decide how you will introduce the program to your neighbors and disseminate Marysville Ready Neighbors folders to each household

- Marysville Emergency Management presentations at neighborhood meetings
- Receive emergency notifications by signing up for Marysville Alerts
- Become an official ambassador in the National Weather Service’s Weather-Ready Nation Ambassador program to promote weather readiness (for HOA's only)
- Participation in The Great Washington ShakeOut earthquake drill (with Certificate of Participation)
- Organize a neighborhood Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)
- Support the Marysville community and your neighbors before, during, and after a disaster
