Government

The City of Marysville is a mayor-council form of government. Seven residents are elected at-large who make up the city council. The mayor, also a resident, is elected and serves full-time as the chief executive of the city. In this form of government, policy and administration are separated. All legislative and policymaking powers are vested in the city council. The administrative authority, including a veto power (except in towns), is vested in the mayor.
